"Airborne" Nov. 1949

Isn't he a grand horse? Having the Derby 1946, St. Leger Coronations
stakes etc. to his credit. He now stands, a stallion, at Newmarket where
I have just been down painting his portrait for Capt. Boyd Rochfort
who had him -

“Big Game” Kings Stallion loaned for
years to the British National Stud at Gillingham Dorset & the original
oil painting from which this photo was taken was a commission from Peter
Burrell superintendant of the stud. It hangs at his home, Sandley. A
son (yearling) of Big Game was sold recently at Newmarket topping the
list at £1800.
